During the first nine months of 2021, approx. 460,000 sq m of industrial spaces were leased throughout Romania, with 31% less compared to the same period of the previous year. Nonetheless, the leasing activity is still gaining from the momentum created by the logistics sector during 2020, a record year in terms of demand and new supply. The Q1 – Q3 2021 total leasing activity (TLA) is still in the race for best years for the industrial market, being with 41% higher compared with the same period of 2019 and with 91% (almost double) compared with Q1-Q3 2018.

At the end of the third quarter of 2021, Romania’s modern industrial stock amounted 5.42 mln. sq m after the delivery of approx. 280,000 sq m throughout the year. Representing half of the country’s stock, Bucharest is the main scene of action for logistics players, usually amongst the first point of presence when they decide either to invest, develop or lease.
